Tatakbo nga ba?

Election fever is heating up here in the Philippines. Yesterday morning, Sen. Kiko participated in GMA 7‘s Tatakbo Ka Ba, a fun run that involved runners from all parts of the Philippines, as well as prospective candidates for the May 2010 national elections. Aside from joining the pledge for clean and honest elections, he also answered some questions that had been burning in the minds of journalists and media followers alike: What do his 2010 plans look like now?

Here is a short video taken from his answer to the question posed by Gang Badoy of RockEd Philippines and Philippines Free Press. She asked if any prospective candidate in the room was willing to give way to someone else should others be deemed more qualified for the positions they’re gunning for.

Our Favorite Guy just celebrated his birthday last week, August 24. Because the team was inspired and ready to use our creative juices, we came up with this simple video to show Sen. Kiko how we feel about him and his leadership.

Thanks to all those who joined in the greetings and celebrations! :) We hope you’ll enjoy our little gift.

The July 30 Rock the Vote concert in Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City was dedicated to former Pres. Cory Aquino. Xavier U President, Rev Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ, led everyone in reciting the prayer.

We continue praying for the repose of her soul, and for the health of our nation, in this time of collective grieving and mourning.

PRAYER FOR PRES. CORY AND OUR NATION

Dearest Lord,

We call upon You in these times of uncertainty and darkness so that we may find hope and light in your Almighty goodness.

As we come together as one people and one nation to empower the youth and give a voice to the voiceless, we offer our prayers to a lady, a mother, and a leader who has been our icon of peace and democracy for almost three decades now.

Lord, we pray for President Corazon C. Aquino, so that she may find good health, serenity, and peace in Your Holy embrace. Grant her the fortitude to withstand her personal struggles. Grant her Your light as she faces uncertainty. Grant her Your wisdom so she may find meaning behind her suffering.

We also pray for our country, our beleaguered nation that has withstood countless revolutions and internal struggles. May we her people find the strength to fight for our country, our democracy, and the future of our families.

To this end we recite the Prayer of Serenity:

Lord, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

So help us, God.

Amen.
